Future of Toghermore House raised at Tuam meeting
Diverse views have been expressed about the future of the residential care facility at Toghermore House.
At this week’s meeting of Tuam Town Council, Cllr Mary Loftus said that she heard the residential facility would only be kept open until Christmas which she added was “simply not good enough”.
Councillor Mary Loftus claimed that Minister of State Kathleen Lynch had been sidelined by Minister Reilly’s office which was not involving her in the matter.
Cllr Tom Reilly called for “an immediate statemement” from the HSE West regarding what's happening with the facility.
He said the coffee shop there had closed down at the weekend.
Deputy Colm Keaveney said he was keeping a close watch on the situation and he too was waiting to see what the findings of the committee would be.
