230 thousand euro has been secured for flood mitigation measures across county Galway.
Ten minor flood schemes will be included in the scheme including Aughrim, Laurencetown, Kinvarra, Lismanny and Ryehill.
Moanmore East has received the largest allocation of 54 thousand euro followed by Laurencestown village which is to benefit from 29 thousand 500 euro for channel improvement works.
The Kylemore river will also be cleaned as part of the operation and a number of bridges will be replaced.
Galway East Fine Gael TD Paul Connaughton says the funding will ease many localised flooding problems throughout the county.
