FUNDING FOR DUNKELLIN RIVER FLOOD WORKS DEPENDS ON BUDGET

Date Published: 08-Jul-2011
A decision on further funding for flood relief works of the Dunkellin river will depend on the Governments budget.
Galway county council is already in the process of undertaking a flood relief scheme for the Dunkellin river and the aggard stream.
Consultants have also been appointed to carry out an impact statement of the proposed works who will submit a design of the scheme to An Bord Pleanála.
Galway East Fianna Fáil TD Michael Kitt is now calling on the Minister for Finance to ensure funding continues to be provided to the project.
