FUNDING BOOST FOR GALWAY FLOODING BLACKSPOTS

Galway's flooding black spots are set to benefit from a new round of funding.

Local TD Paul Connaughton says the money is being provided by the OPW under the Flood Mitigation Scheme.

Over 16 thousand is to be provided for work at Lenamore,

Colesmanstown and a further 14 thousand will go towards work at Glenaslat in Monivea.

Loughanboy is Caltra has also been allocated over 11 thousand euro of the fund.

Elsewhere, Junior Minister Ciaran Cannon has announced that over 19 thousand euro is to used for flood work in Gort and Loughrea.

The works will be carried out at Cross Street and the Lake Road in Loughrea, and at Inchaboy in Gort.
