Full recheck as battle for last European seat in Midlands Northwest continues

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The battle for the last European seat in the Midlands Northwest is set to resume at 10 this morning. It's after a full recheck was announced last night for the constituency – with just 275 votes separating Independent Marian Harkin and Fianna Fáil's Pat the Cope Gallagher. Independent Luke Ming Flanagan, Fine Gael's Mairead McGuinness and Sinn Fein's Matt Carthy have already been elected. Fianna Fáils Pat the Cope Gallagher called for the recheck. Independent Marian Harkin said she never thought it would be so close.
