FRESH CAMPAIGN FOR PROGRESS ON BALLINFOILE NEIGHBOURHOOD COMPLEX

Date Published: 02-Jan-2013

A local campaign group is to launch a petition to push for progress on a long awaited neighbourhood complex for Ballinfoille in the city.

The group is still awaiting news from the City Council on the selection of a new contractor for the project after the initial contractor pulled out in August.

The plans which are estimated to cost in excess of two million euro are now subject to a re-assessment of tender applications and City Officials HAD hoped to complete all project costing negotiations prior to Christmas.

The core grant for the project is funded by Pobail.

Local project campaigner Brendan Smith says a petition will begin in the next few days in a bid to push the project on after years of waiting.
