Four Galway road improvement projects are listed among the NRA's 100 million euro works for 20-12.
Funding has been secured for the realignment of a 2.3 kilometre stretch of the N17 at castletown and at one other section of the road.Work will also be undertaken to improve road safety on the N67 between Ballinderren and Kinvara, while a cycleway and pedestrian improvements will be provided on the Bothar na dTreabh stretch of the N6 in the city.
Galway Fine Gael TD Brian Walsh says the money will improve major black-spots and bottlenecks on Galway roads.
Work will start on around 30 projects this year including the Ballaghaderreen Bypass in Co. Roscommon; the N7 Newlands Cross upgrade in South Dublin; and the N11 Arklow to Rathnew road in Co. Wicklow.
