FLOODING ON ROAD AT SALTHILL

WHILE some roads still have flash flooding this morning there are no reports of any major routes around the city or county being impassable.

But there is severe flooding on the road near the Galway Golf Club in Salthill and motorists are warned to be extra vigilant on this stretch of road.

Galway Gardai and the fire service also report a night of few incidents but fire fighters had to extinguish a van fire at Eyre Square at 2.40 am.

One unit of the fire brigade had the blaze under control within 10 minutes.
