The Taoiseach is shortly set to face the third protest of the day during his visit to the city.

The Galway Alliance Against War is to protest outside City Hall to coincide with Mayor Hildegarde Naughton's reception for Enda Kenny at 6.30pm.

Earlier up to 30 students from NUIG Student's Union staged a blockade at 1 o'clock outside the 'think-in' in the Radisson Hotel in the city centre.

While just a handful of people from the Roscommon Hospital Action Group protested quietly nearby.
