FINANCE MINISTER URGED TO SAVE GALWAY AIRPORT

Date Published: 02-Feb-2012
The Minister for Finance is being urged to intervene in a situation, which it's claimed is threatening the future of Galway Airport.
Management at the airport say that Bank of Ireland has seized funds from the company's deposit account.
It's understood the funds of more than a million euro are being offset against the airport's loans.
However, management claim that they were not notified of the move and all loans were up-to-date.
Galway West Fine Gael T.D, Brian Walsh, says he is now calling on Finance Minister, Michael Noonan to intervene.
