FINAL RESIDENTS OF CITY ASYLUM CENTRE LISBROOK HOUSE LEAVE TODAY

Date Published: 14-Nov-2012
The remaining residents of city asylum centre Lisbrook House are packing up their belongings today as they prepare to leave the city.
The 37 men, women and children are the last of the 250 residents centre to leave.
They have been loading toys, bags, bikes and electrical equipment onto buses since early this morning.
The group will travel to Mosney in County Meath where they will be re-housed.
Minister Alan Shatter announced his decision to close the centre in October, citing cost reasons and the availability of beds elsewhere.
