The Fianna Fáil leader is accusing the Government of suppressing an independent review of planning reviews at six local authorities including Galway county council.

The planning probes were set up by the last Environment Minister John Gormley but shut down by Phil Hogan last June.

The current Government opted to carry out an internal review into allegations of irregularities and practices - due to the cost of external consultants.

The probe involved an examination of decisions by Dublin and Cork City Councils as well as Carlow, Meath, Galway and Cork County Councils.
