The leader of Fianna Fail says the decision to re-instate Galway West TD Eamon Ó Cuív to the front bench was not made under pressure.

Michael Martin announced a reshuffle last evening, giving Eamon Ó Cuív the role of spokesperson on agriculture.

However Fianna Fail has decided not to appoint a new deputy leader to replace O' Cuiv who resigned from the role earlier this year.

The grandson of Eamon De Valera left the postion after going against the party to call for a NO vote in May's fiscal treaty referendum.

Speaking on Galway Talks, Michael Martin said he had been considering the front bench reshuffle for 'some time'.
