FERRY WORKER DIES AFTER FALL AT KILRONAN PIER

A 73 year old city man has died in hospital after he received head injuries in a fall at Kilronan Pier on the Aran Island of Inis Mor at the weekend [Jul 1].
The incident took place at around 11.30 Sunday morning when the ferry worker was on board a passenger vessel.
The man has been named locally as 73 year old James McClean from Renmore in the city.
After receiving medical attention from a GP at the scene, he was then airlifted to University Hospital Galway.
He died in the early hours of yesterday morning [Jul 3].
