FEARS NEW CHARGES WILL INCREASE ILLEGAL DUMPING IN TUAM

The introduction of charges at Tuam’s Civic Amenity Site will mean more illegal dumping in the area according to members of Tuam Town Council.It was confirmed to the board that people using the service, which was free up to now, will have to pay to dispose their refuse from next week.Cllr Peter Warren said that many people will now leave rubbish beside bottle banks and along roadsides rather than pay 4 Euro per car when using the Civic Amenity Site.
