EYRE SQUARE OVERRUN TO BE REFERRED TO PUBLIC ACCOUNTS COMMITTEE

A city Councillor is asking the Dáil Public Accounts Committee to investigate why the final bill for the Eyre Square Enhancement Scheme is 15 million euro.

The figure is contained in the local government audit report from the Department of the Environment.

The contract for the project, signed back in 2004, was for 6.3 million euro.

Councillor Padraig Conneely says he wants the over-run inspected.
