ENVIRONMENT MINISTER URGED TO REINSTATE WORK ON RIVER SUCK SCHEME

Date Published: 30-Aug-2010
A letter will be sent to the Minister for the Environment John Gormley urging him not to stop work on the River Suck Drainage Project.
Up to 15 staff who had been working on the scheme were let go earlier this month, one week earlier that they should have been.
Councillor Paul Connaughton wrote to the County Managers in Galway and Roscommon to find a solution, as the staff would not have worked up enough weeks to claim stamps.
