DELAYS EXPECTED FOLLOWING THIRD CITY ROUNDABOUT SWITCHOVER

Date Published: 11-Jun-2012
Galway City Council is appealing to motorists to expect delays as crews officially turn on the latest in a set of signalised lights on the N6 corridor.
The lights at the Ballybane junction or the former Morris Roundabout are to be turned on at 7 this evening [June 11].
It's the third in a planned series of changeovers as part of a 7 million euro project on the Bothar na dTreabh N6 Multi Modal Corridor Improvement Scheme.
The lights and those at the recently signalised Tuam Road junction will be synchronised with the Urban Traffic Management Central Control Room in a couple of weeks.
The Bodkin Roundabout at the Galway Shopping Centre is the next set for conversion with works scheduled to begin in August.
