DECISION TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE CITY DAY CENTRE REVERSED

A decision to temporarily close a city nursing home day care centre has been overturned.

St Francis Day Centre in Newcastle was scheduled to close on December 6th until the 9th January next year.

The measure was set to be introduced due to staffing issues to enable resources to concentrate on long stay care at the facility.

However, a commitment to reverse that decision has now been received by City Councillor Catherine Connolly.
