Date Published: 21-Mar-2011
A Galway County Councillor will have to wait until next month to find out if he can lodge an appeal against a previous conviction.
Ardrahan Councillor Michael Fahy is seeking permission from the courts to appeal his 2008 conviction for fraud.
In December 2008, Councillor Michael Fahy was found guilty of one count of fraud.
Judge Michael White sentenced him to one year in jail, with the final four months suspended for the misappropriation of funds from Galway County Council.
