DECISION DUE ON TENDER FOR BALLINFOILLE NEIGHBOURHOOD COMPLEX

A decision on the selection of a tender for the Ballinfoille Neighbourhood Complex project is due within the next few weeks.

The plans, which are estimated to cost more than two million euro are subject to a reassessment of tender applications after the initial contractor pulled out last August.

Local campaign group RAPID Urban Regeneration and Renewal say the struggle to secure the multi-purpose sports and neighbourhood centre has been ongoing since the late 1980s.

Galway City Council says it's still evaluating a particular tender and looking at options in relation to this particular tender.
