DATE SET FOR JUDGEMENT IN CASE INVOLVING DEAF LOUGHREA WOMAN AND JURY SERVICE

A date has been set for a High Court judgement on a Loughrea woman's legal battle challenging her exclusion from jury service on grounds of her deafness. Joan Clarke, of Athenry Road, Loughrea, says she should not be deemed ineligible for jury service merely because she is deaf. Mr Justice Daniel O'Keeffe will deliver his judgement on her case on October 10th.
