CUSTODY REMAND FOR MOYCULLEN MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED RAPE IN THE CITY

A 31 year old man appeared in custody today before the Central Criminal Court sitting in Galway, charged with the attempted rape of a young woman on her way to work in the city last April.The man, who may not be named for legal reasons, is charged with the attempted rape of the woman at Forster Court, Forster Street, on April 8th, contrary to Common Law. He's further charged with falsely imprisoning the woman and with assaulting her, causing her harm on the same date.Judge Carney agreed to adjourn the matter to the Central Criminal Court in Dublin on October 27th and he remanded the accused in custody to that date.
