COUNTYWIDE DRIVE TO STAMP OUT CRIMINAL ACTIVITY

Date Published: 11-Jan-2013
Households across rural Galway are being urged to get involvoed in a countywide initiative to stamp out criminal activity.
The plan is being driven by the Community Watch sub Joint Policing Committee with the support of the IFA and the GAA.
Cllr Michael Connolly who is Chairperson of the sub-Committee says action is needed due to cuts in the government budget for the Senior Alert Scheme from 2.4 to 1.3 million.
He told Galway Talks that the people of Galway can take action by means of a fresh focus on community alert.
