County official confident Tuam motorway will progress

This was conveyed to the local authority at it’s meeting this week.

Director of Services Frank Gilmore said that Minister Leo Varadkar had said during a visit to Galway last month that he hoped to be back in the county again before Christmas.

His hopes were that he would deliver on his promise to give the goahead for the Gort-Tuam motorway during that next visit.

When it was mentioned that the Minister had made a similar promise in the past the Director of Services replied that this time all the other outstanding issues had been resolved now and this cleared the way for any such announcement.
