COUNTY COUNCILLORS DISCUSS SEPTIC TANK CHARGES FOUR HOURS AFTER PROTEST

The December meeting of Galway County Council is continuing at County Buildings and the controversial topic of septic tank charges is now being discussed

The meeting had to be adjourned for a short time earlier in the afternoon when about 100 people, who were protesting over septic tank charges, filed into the Chamber

They wanted to hear the councillors debate on the controversial charge although Mayor Maher has explained it's not on the agenda for today's meeting

However, councillors are now discussing the matter with a small number of representatives of the protestors present in the chamber.
