COUNTY COUNCILLOR WANTS ISLAND BUSINESS RATES ABOLISHED

A County Councillor is campaigning for business rates on the Islands and rural areas to be abolished.Councillor Sean O' Tuarisg says that these rates need to be abolished to encourage businesses to set up in these areas.Connemera and Clár areas have seen a decrease of almost 40 percent in population over the past ten years, while Galway has seen an increase of almost 21 percent.Speaking to Galway Bay FM News, Councillor O' Tuarisg says that a radical change is needed to promote business on the Island.
