COUNTY COUNCIL TO REVIEW EMERGENCY PHONE SERVICE

Galway County Council is to review its out-of-hours emergency telephone service. The review comes on foot of weekend reports that Galway city fire service were getting calls unrelated to their work from members of the public reporting county council emergencies outside normal work hours. Mayor of County Galway Sean Canney requested the service be reviewed after meeting with County manager Martina Maloney and Director of General Services Kevin Kelly.
