COUNTY COUNCIL FACING TOUGHEST BUDGET IN YEARS

Galway County Council is facing one of their toughest budgets ever with almost €7 million less to spend this year.

The meeting to discuss the draft budget has been underway at County buildings since 2 o'clock this afternoon.

Pay, essential services, housing and roads budgets have all been hit.

But the good news is that there'll be no rise in commercial rates and the council's water budget has gone up.
