As flood waters continue to rise in parts of South Galway Councillor Bridie Willers has spoken about how she had to be moved by boat from her home when it was surrounded by floods on the eve of her husband returning from hospital.
Cllr Willer's husband Denis was discharged from hospital yesterday but as their home at Granagh is surrounded by floods she was moved by boat by members of Loughrea Fire Brigade, and other emergency workers, to welcome him home to a neighbour's vacant house.
