It's feared University Hospital Galway's parking crisis could spill over into neighbouring Shantalla.City Councillor Colette Connolly wants a pilot scheme brought in to protect locals by introducing resident's only parking. She's sought confirmation from city manager Joe McGrath on whether a verbal agreement has been made with University Hospital Galway to use lands in Shantalla for another hospital car park.Councillor Connolly says it's unacceptabe that the residents of Shantalla have to suffer because UHG has a parking crisis. She says she's shocked at this latest proposal as City Councillors had previously voted unanimously not to allow the site be used as a heli-pad.Councillor Connolly added that she presumed the land was to be used as a park for the residents and she's now appalled at the idea of the site being used as a car park
