Council to review placement of memorial plaques in Loughrea
Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway County Council is to review the placement of memorial plaques in an area close to the Town Council offices in Loughrea.
The decision was made after a debate at this week's meeting of the Town Council.
Councillor Michael 'Mogie' Maher proposed a motion that Loughrea Memorial Group be allowed erect a plaque to commemmorate Private John Oliver, who fought in World War 1.
However the proposal was opposed by Mayor James Regan.
