Council to make funding submission to government for unfinished city estates
Galway Bay fm newsroom - The city council is to make a submission to Government for funding unfinished estates across Galway.
It follows robust debate over three such estates in Doughiska - namely Fearan Ri, Fionnuisce and Caislean Thorlaigh.
Cllr Terry o' Flaherty's motion that the council make strong representations to the Government departments for their completion was unanimously approved at last evening's meeting of the city council.
The city manager said that in relation to three bonds, one is being drawn down, a second is being pursued and a third issued by IBRC is being pursued at a national level.
He added that the council would be submitting an application to Govt for funding these estates and others in the city this month.
