Galway Transportation Unit is to consult with local area councillors in the coming days to discuss proposals to the Kirwan roundabout changeover at the Menlo Park hotel.

It follows a meeting with the councillors yesterday where various options were debated.

These include changes to the Menlo Park exit or changes to the Sandy Road/Liosban leg.

The local authority is reconsidering options for the changeover to a new four lane signalised junction following huge public opposition to the plans.

Director of Services Ciaran Hayes says difficult choices will have to be made and Councillors will be consulted again within the coming days.
