Council finds excess of iron in Clifden water supply
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Tests carried out on the water supply in Clifden have shown an excess of iron. The County Council carried out the testing of samples along the Galway road, which were found to be clear of bacteriological contamination. The Council says the water does not pose a public health risk. However, some samples showed exceedences in iron levels, causing the discolouration of water. In the short-term, the Council says it's regularly flushing the mains and the pipes will be replaced by the end of October.
