The higher cost of living affecting people in Galway will top the agenda at a Sinn Féin rally next week.

Pearse Doherty, the party's finance spokesperson, will address the meeting alongside his colleague Galway West TD Mairéad Farrell.

The cost of living meeting will be hosted by Sinn Féin Bye-Election candidate in Galway West, Mark Lohan.

It takes place on Monday, April 20 at 7.30pm in the Connacht Hotel and the public is invited to attend.

“The cost of living crisis has people at crisis point. Many people across Galway have told me that they simply cannot afford to heat their homes, put fuel in their car or pay their bills. Thousands of people took to the streets over the last week clearly calling on Government to act. Enough is enough and Sinn Féin is demanding action on this now,” said Mr Lohan, a trade union official with SIPTU and former City Councillor.
