A RESOLUTE display by city boxer Patrick Corcoran (Olympic BC) was not enough to deny Clonmel’s Con Sheehan a fourth senior heavyweight title in a row at the Irish Amateur Boxing Championships in Dublin on Friday night.
The 21-year old Galway man produced a storming first round to take a surprise 2-1 lead against the firm favourite, but Corcoran could not sustain his domination during a hard-fought encounter at the National Stadium.
