CONTRACTS SIGNED FOR SITE FOR NEW GAELSCOIL DE HIDE ORANMORE

Contracts have been signed by the Department of Education for the purchase of a site for the new Gaelscoil de hIde, Oranmore.
Galway West Independent Deputy Noel Grealish says the purchase of the site was the main cause of delay in the much needed new building.
Almost 300 students and 20 staff at the primary school are housed in temporary accomodation with no playground space.
Construction had been set to begin in 2015, but last month Principle Máit O Brádaigh called for works to begin immediately as accommodation is at crisis point.
Deputy Grealish told Galway Bay fm news there will now be a big push to get the construction date brought forward.
