Construction company must pay bond to complete Gort development

Galway Bay fm newsroom – More time is being allowed to build a major housing development in Gort. Reddington Construction has been granted an extension of planning permission for 132 houses, 6 apartments, a creche and shops at Ballyhugh. Planning permission was due to run out on the mixed-use development at Ballyhugh Gort. Reddington Construction applied for an extension of planning permission as no building had taken place because of economic circumstances. The County Council has granted the extension of time to build the development until 2019. However it has imposed a condition on the extension of planning permission. Before work begins, Reddington Construction must lodge a bond to the value of 882 thousand euro to secure the completion of public lighting, roads, footpaths and sewers.
