Management at a seaweed processing company in Connemara is expected to bring forward a development plan on its future in the coming weeks.

Arramara Teo based in Cill Chiaráin, is a state owned body with Údaras na Gaeltachta holding 100% of the company shares since 2006.

Over the past few years, the Údaras has been looking for strategic investors and it's understood a number of national and international companies are now interested in the company.

The production facility employs 20 people in the factory with 250 harvestors working in the industry in a part time basis.

Galway Senator Trevor O' Clochartaigh says there is huge potential for the company going forward
