CONNEMARA ROCK SURVEY COULD IMPACT GRANTS

Some Connemara farmers could lose part of their agricultural grants because rocks are being deducted from the official area of their land. The Department of Agriculture is claiming that rocks and stones should not be counted as land for grant purposes and this can have a serious effect in mountain commonages.
