Connemara residents say 'enough is enough' and want changes to be made the windfarm strategy.

Over 30 people demonstrated outside County Buildings in the city this lunchtime to highlight opposition to the high numbers of wind turbines being built close to homes in the region.

The group, which includes residents from areas such as Moycullen, Lettermuckoo, and Cashla claim that to date 103 wind turbines have been granted permission in an 8 kilometre radius of Moycullen, most of which are 120 metres tall.

Bearing placards saying 'protect our beautiful landscape' and 'council in breach of EU directives', they're hoping to speak with councillors who are attending this afternoon's local authority meeting.
