A 32 year old Connemara fisherman has been given until tomorrow to pay €12,000 to a Tuam man whom he stabbed during a street brawl in Galway city two years ago.
Joseph Casey of Ard Mór, Cill Chiaráin, pleaded guilty at Galway Circuit Criminal Court this week to assaulting Kieran Fahy, from Kilconly, at Forster Street, on February 24, 2008.
Casey had €2,000 in cash in court to offer as an expression of his remorse to the victim.
Mr Hogan said his client would have a further €10,000 in court for Mr Fahy by this Thursday.
