CONNEMARA GREENWAY HEARING EXPECTED TO CONCLUDE

The public hearing on the proposed Connemara cycling and walking route has been hearing submissions from locals and business people.
The hearing was told this evening that the matter would be brought to the European Courts if Galway County Council pushes ahead with the plan.
The route between Oughterard and Clifden is over 51 kilometres in length and most of it would follow the old Connemara railway line.
The two day hearing is expected to conclude shortly.
