CONCERNS FOR FUTURE OF BALLINASLOE HORSE FAIR

Concerns have been raised that Europe's oldest horse fair and festival in Ballinasloe may be losing some of its main attractions.

That's according to community representative Stephen Connell who told this month's meeting of the town's Joint Policing Committee that the matter should be debated.

He said that the great display of arts, crafts and garden produce as well as the horse jumping on the opening Monday were no longer being staged.
