Concern over state of former Tuam hospital
Galway Bay fm newsroom - Concerns have been raised over the state of the former Bon Secours Hospital in Tuam. The matter was raised at this week's meeting of Tuam Town Council where Cllr Tom Reilly said the former hospital should not have been allowed to fall into disrepair.
The matter was raised initially at this week’s meeting of Tuam Town Council by Cllr Martin Ward who said that slates are missing from the roof of the former Grove hospital and unless action is taken the roof will collapse. But former Mayor Tom Reilly said the HSE “had totally neglected the building”.He asked that a strongly worded letter be sent to the health authority complaining about the appearance of the former hospital.Cllr Reilly said that boarding up the windows at the former hospital gave the impression that the building was vandalised and he is demanding that they remove the boards immediately.
