Galway East T.D Colm Keaveney is defending his decision to vote against the dissolution of IBRC, formerly Anglo Irish Bank.
It follows comments by Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore who has branded Colm Keaveney as an "opposition deputy".
Mr Keaveney, who lost the whip after voting against part of the Social Welfare Bill last year, has also since lost his positions on the Public Accounts, European Union Affairs and Transport Committees.
However he remains the Chairperson of the Labour Party.
Speaking on this programme this morning, Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore paid tribute to the Labour party representatives for supporting the Government through many tough decisions.
However when questioned on his relationship with Deputy Keaveney he told Keith Finnegan that he now considers Colm Keaveney as an "opposition deputy":Deputy Keaveney says he will vote on each bill on its merit and didn't feel comfortable voting on the latest piece of legislation.
