CITY SOUP KITCHEN TO PROVIDE CHRISTMAS DAY MEALS FOR GALWAY

Date Published: 24-Dec-2012
A volunteer team at Twist soup kitchen is to provide meals for people in need in Galway for its first Christmas opening tomorrow (Dec 25).
The voluntary organisation was set up on Dock Road in June where it feeds an average of 80 people per day.
It's the group's first Christmas Day in operation with over 60 people already signed up.
It will also open tomorrow providing hot meals in its sister soup kitchens in Athlone and Roscommon.
Managing Director and Athenry resident Oliver Williams says the group will also hold a mass service tomorrow at a difficult and demanding time for many households.
