The Occupy Galway protest camp is urging the public to get involved in its campaign as it holds its first public information day [Dec 3].

The group is part of a worldwide movement against corporate greed with 20 tents pitched on Eyre Square as well as a camp gazebo.

The event which aims to empower the local community gets underway at lunchtime with music from local artists.

This afternoon's schedule includes contributions from NUIG Philosophy lecturer Myles Kennedy on movements worldwide and financial advice on how to beat the bankers.
