CITY MAN JAILED FOR BIRTHCERT FRAUD

A city man has been jailed for two years for fraudulently claiming he was the father of a Chinese woman's child.
Separated father of three, 44 year old Graham Hopkins of 7 Castlepark, Headford Road, and hotel maid, 26 year old Roulan Lin, with a former rental address at, The Stables, College Road in the city, both appeared before Galway Circuit Criminal Court.
They pleaded guilty giving false information to a registrar at the Civil Registration Service, Galway, on April 20, 2009.
The pair also pleaded guilty to giving false information in connection with a passport application to the registrar at the Civil Registration Office on the same date.
